Start With A Trolley Ride!Best viewed if you maximize your screen. Jen came in on Friday into Oakland International Airport (OAK. Not recommended, even if you're going to Oakland!). She and her friend Karen arrived in the early evening. We headed to Daly City for Karen's boyfriend Craig's indoor soccer match. Then it was off to Johnny Foley's off Union Square...where I lost my glasses. NOT GOOD. But the next day brought more excitement and fun when we picked up Deena at San Jose International Airport (SJC). Then, we headed up to San Francisco for a day of foggy, cloudy fun! There is no better way to start off a tour of San Francisco than with a ride on the historic Trolley! So, we parked underneath Union Square, and stood on a small island in the middle of Stockton Street with about 100 other people to board the next trolley bound for Fisherman's Wharf.
As you can see here, the trolley was a little crowded. But Deena didn't care! She was just happy to be experience the icon of the "San Francisco Treat," Rice-A-Roni. You can see Jen in the background, waving...or indicating that she's so mooshed by others that she can't breathe.
I opted to take up little room on the trolley, as there was none. Below you can see a self portrait of me hanging off the edge of the trolley, a perilous position I shared with a tall, sturdy teenager whose mother was encouraging him to stay within the plane of the trolley. You can see the back of him in the first picture, the one in the grey hooded sweatshirt. See the street zooming behind/below me?
