In order to get to the festive village of Buñol, I needed a car. I had seen around Barcelona the
Smart Car, very compact, very odd looking, and ready to conquer Spain. So, I rented a Smart Car, an Italian made collaboration of Mercedes-Benz and Swatch! The Smart Car wasn't particularly made for the highway. The wind kinda belw me around a little. The biggest problem was that everyone who passed me looked at me funny!

When I arrived in Buñol I decided to get a lay of the land before I checked into my hotel, which was 15 miles back up the road. So, I enter this small remote Spanish village......in the Smart Car! There I was, cruising around Buñol with every Buñolite staring at me! Since the car is only on the European mainland, they probably didn't even think to say "Look at the idiot American!" It was probably just plain ol' "Look at the idiot!" Of course, I couldn't find the center of town, so was cruising the residential neighborhoods. For my American audience, one must remember that the streets of Europe are not as wide as the streets of America, especially in small remote villages. The side streets really only fit one car. And since it's HOT in Spain, the people are sitting the curbs, sitting on chairs in front of their apartment homes, etc. So, there was high visibility of the red-with-electric-blue-interior Smart Car.

Please note that there are no pictures of me in the Smart Car because I'm taking the photos.
